FOREWORD, "Soothing Poetic Pages"
In the Bible we are told "open thy mouth wide, and I may fill it" (Psalm 81:10, KJV). We are further told that "out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword" (Revelation 19:15, KJV). The sword spoken of here is the Word of God. Words that speak of truth, of justice, of hope, and of salvation. Words that the whole world needs to hear.
The words that Dr. Veerman has shared with the world on her web page have given help, hope, and assurance to the many that have visited there. But most of all, it has shown what the true meaning of Christian forgiveness and compassion are all about. With all of the vileness and corruption that has captured the Internet, her words provide a source of light through the darkness. Her words are like a sharp sword, cutting through the disease found on the Internet and in the world, cutting a path for the Truth.
We hear ministers, evangelists, and authors talk about going out into the world and helping our
fellow man, but how many of them are willing to do so themselves? Through the power of the Internet,
Dr. Veerman has touched untold hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of lives. Only a few of the visitors to her web page ever sign the guestbook there or
e-mail her, so even she does not know how many people have benefited from her words.
But perhaps I should not call them her words, because as Psalm 81:10 tells us, she opened her mouth and the Lord filled it.
As with her work on the Internet, so it is with the words she has provided in this book. They are inspiring, and make one think about their daily life and what is really important. In this modern, highly technological world, it is so easy to get caught up in the rat race that the world has become. Her words and insights make us slow down, take a look around, and bring us back to what the Lord intended for us.
This world we live in looks at sin as something that is good, pleasurable, and desirable. Many have begun to notice that something is wrong with their lives, but are not certain what it is. The words provided by Dr. Veerman provide a means for those who are searching, to find what they need in their lives.
Her words offer hope and reassurance. In a world
that does not forgive so easily, her words demonstrate the forgiveness that God has for all of us, if we just come to Him, get on our knees, and simply ask for it.
For those who want to know more about the Lord and the Word of God, this book is an excellent study tool.
By just reading and practicing the things in it, one can demonstrate the true teachings of Christ to their neighbors and the world.
This book is for adults and children. It is for those who are saved and those who are still wandering around lost. It is for both the learned and the ignorant. This book is for everyone. If you are feeling down this book will lift you up. If you are feeling worthless and feel like you are accomplishing nothing, this book will show you that you are not worthless, that you can accomplish things, and that no matter what you may have done, God still loves you.
I look back at the day I first came across
Dr. Veerman's web page, and count it as a blessing. I saw words there that were truly inspiring. Words that were reaching out to those that were hurt, suffering, and lost. I praise God for leading me to her page. I count it an honor to call Dr. Veerman friend and a true sister in Christ.
